Watson, 38, is visiting with the New England Patriots on Thursday, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN. He is also considering signing with the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills.
The Patriots made Watson, who played college football at Georgia, the No. 32 overall selection in 2004. He also spent time with the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns during his professional career.
Watson caught 35 passes for 400 yards with two touchdowns with the Saints in 2018. He has recorded 530 receptions for 5,885 yards with 44 touchdowns over his 15 NFL seasons.
Watson missed all of 2016 with a torn Achilles.
San Francisco already has one of the league's best tight ends in George Kittle and added Kaden Smith out of Stanford via the draft.
