Goodwin edged cornerback Donte Jackson of the Carolina Panthers to earn a $1 million payday. Earlier this month, John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal listed Ted Ginn Jr., Alvin Kamara, Robby Anderson, Trae Waynes, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie as others involved in the single-elimination tournament.
Note: Ginn was a no-show, according to Pro Football Talk.
ESPN reports that Damiere Byrd, Christian Blake, Khalfani Muhammad, Jalen Myrick, and John Franklin III also participated in the contest.
"I look forward to competition anytime," Goodwin told reporters earlier this month when asked about this weekend's competition.
The receiver sees activities like this, and his interest in participating in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, as an extension of his offseason workout regimen.
"I'm going to be running anyways," Goodwin added.
Goodwin is entering his third season with the 49ers after initially signing a two-year deal with the team on March 9, 2017, and then signing a three-year extension on March 8, 2018. He is under contract through the 2021 season.
Goodwin caught 23 passes for 395 yards with four touchdowns through 11 games and eight starts with the 49ers last season. He was a track athlete in college at Texas and a two-time NCAA long jump champion. Goodwin was a member of the 2012 United States track and field team and finished tenth in the long jump at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
H/t to Damond Talbot of NFL Draft Diamonds for the find.
