The San Francisco 49ers have completed their third of 11 training camp practices from Santa Clara. The Monday session lasted just over an hour and a half.

Quick Notes

The 49ers held a moment of silence before practice for the Gilroy shooting victims from Sunday's tragedy.

Monday's practice was the first in full pads.

Everyone is talking about Jimmy Garoppolo's big day. Not just throwing the football but scrambling. Yes, scrambling. That is certainly a good sign for the quarterback, who is coming off an ACL injury.

Veteran Joe Staley had the day off.

Cornerback Jason Verrett wore No. 34 during the first two practices of camp but debuted wearing No. 2 on Monday. Don't buy your custom Verrett jersey just yet. That will likely change again for the regular season.

Injuries

The only player who missed practice, other than those on the PUP list, was guard Joshua Garnett, who dislocated his finger over the weekend.

Coach Kyle Shanahan provided a brief update on running back Jerick McKinnon, who started camp on PUP.

"I would think we would get him off PUP sooner than later," Shanahan said. "That doesn't mean you guys are going to see him out at practice right away."
