Quick Notes
49ers players returned to practice after having Monday off.
The 49ers officially activated RB Jerick McKinnon from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list before practice. He will be eased back into practice so don't expect to see him full-go just yet.
Taking the Rookie Hype Machine to the next level, QB Wilton Speight and WR Shawn Poindexter did this:
QB Jimmy Garoppolo's interception-free streak during team drills finally ended. CB Ahkello Witherspoon got the pick on a pass intended for WR Kendrick Bourne. Garoppolo threw an estimated 130 passes during team drills before his first interception.
"Ahkello Witherspoon plucks ball just before it hits ground after it ricocheted off an open Kendrick Bourne," wrote Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group via Twitter.

Tuesday's Practice Reports
The following are in the order in which they were posted. It looks like a small sample size for Tuesday.
Eric Branch, San Francisco Chronicle
49ers' practice report: WRs can't grasp opportunity
Takeaways: It wasn't a good day for receivers. First, you have the Witherspoon interception off a near-catch by Bourne. WR Dante Pettis had a C.J. Beathard-thrown ball ripped from his grasp by CB Greg Mabin. WR Deebo Samuel dropped a "perfect pass" from Nick Mullens. TE Ross Dwelley also had a drop that could have been a long touchdown. Garoppolo was 9-of-13 passing, plus his interception. WR Trent Taylor caught a scoring pass from Mullens after blown coverage. DL Arik Armstead stopped RB Tevin Coleman in the backfield. LB Kwon Alexander forced a fumble.

49ers camp report: Nick Bosa still impressing, Jerick McKinnon off PUP list
Takeaways: As the article title states, Bosa continues to impress. There were several dropped passes as well as pre-snap penalties. Dwelley caught a nice pass from Garoppolo and got 40 yards downfield before Richard Sherman caught up to him. Samuel flashed in one-on-one end-zone drills.

12 Observations from 49ers 2019 Training Camp: Aug 6
Takeaways: Receivers and cornerbacks were evenly matched during red zone one-on-one work. Sherman dominated the exercise and did not allow a reception. Bourne found the end zone in each of his reps. Samuel also excelled. Bosa had a would-be sack while he and DeForest Buckner had several pressures. DT Sheldon Day batted down a pass and had a run stop behind the line of scrimmage. LB Mark Nzeocha had a run stop.
