Whispers from Denver are saying that Jimmy Garoppolo is likely to see two or three series tonight at Mile High Stadium against the Broncos. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, as you well know, is making his first in-game appearance since suffering an ACL injury 11 months ago.

Of course, if Garoppolo comes out, leads a scoring drive in his first series, and goes something like 4-of-5 doing so, head coach Kyle Shanahan may just pull his franchise quarterback out of the game. Nothing is certain, yet.

"Want to play him," Shanahan told reporters on Saturday. "A lot has to do with when we watch his film from these two practices, how long we do play all our starters, what O-linemen are available and things like that. I'd like him to get in there for a little bit."

The 49ers will likely play against the Broncos without two starting offensive linemen. Center Weston Richburg remains on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list and definitely won't play. Starting right guard Mike Person suffered a minor left foot injury during Friday's joint practice with the Broncos and could be kept out.

We asked the Niner Faithful how much they feel Garoppolo should play on Monday night. Most voted for two series. Coming in second is one series, and third is three or more series.

At the time of this post, nearly 10 percent of fans believe Garoppolo shouldn't play at all to avoid another injury.
