San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan jumped on a conference call with reporters on Tuesday and shared several injury updates, two of which involved offensive linemen.

The 49ers still hope to have center Weston Richburg (knee) ready for Week 1 of the regular season. The initial plan was to have him back in time for the week leading to the team's final preseason game, an August 29 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Richburg might even play in the game depending on how that week goes.

"Richburg, we're hoping the Chargers week where he can get out and practice a little bit," Shanahan said. "If he could, then we decide whether to play him in that game to get him ready for Week 1. That's what we're kind of hoping for. We'll see."

Mike Person is still day-to-day. The guard sustained a foot injury during the 49ers' first joint practice with the Denver Broncos. Shanahan hopes to have him practicing with the team on Thursday.

"Hopefully he'll be out there two days from now," Shanahan said.

The coach also provided an update on pass rusher Dee Ford (knee tendinitis). The goal was to have him back practicing this week.

"Right now, if you had to ask me, I don't think we'd throw in him tomorrow (Wednesday), just traveling like this and the fact that we're going to not be full speed (in practice)," Shanahan said. "We'll look at it again the next day. With this short week happening and stuff, though, I know that was the goal for it, or we thought there was a possibility. I still think there is, but we're going to be leaning a little bit more toward next week."
