Defensive end Nick Bosa will begin practicing again on Monday, said Lynch. The rookie missed the entire preseason with an ankle injury suffered during an August 7 practice. The team remains hopeful that Bosa might be available to play in the regular-season opener on September 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, it is willing to take a patient approach and do what is best for Bosa in the long-term.
"He'll be ready for practice on Monday, and we'll see where it goes from there," Lynch said.
Lynch said there is a strong possibility that cornerback Jason Verrett, also dealing with an ankle injury, will be ready for Week 1. The general manager felt they saw enough from Verrett this offseason to keep him on the initial 53-player roster.
"The good news for Jason is that his recovery from this ankle injury is going very well and a strong possibility that we'll have him for Week 1," Lynch said. "That's still in play but we made a decision that Jason was worth carrying onto this roster and we're pleased with that."

Cornerback K'Waun Williams' rehab from a knee injury seems to be going well.
"He had a hard workout there today with our medical staff," Lynch said. "We'll see how he responds, but his rehab is trending well, and I would still say this week will tell a lot about his readiness for Week 1."
Lynch also confirmed that wide receiver Trent Taylor will not be ready for Week 1. Taylor had foot surgery on August 9 to repair a fracture.
"Trent won't be ready (for) Week 1," Lynch said. "I think we're still biding time there."
Jalen Hurd's status for Week 1 remains up in the air. He has been dealing with back issues since the 49ers' August 19 preseason matchup against the Denver Broncos and did not play in the final two exhibition games.
"Jalen's situation (is) still kind of playing out," Lynch said. "He's having some back tightness; symptoms are getting better, but again, I think as this week goes on, we'll know more-so as to his availability."
