San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan joined KNBR on Tuesday and was asked to identify one coach and one player who couldn't be chased out of the facility if the team tried. Who is so hungry to study and work on his craft that he spends nearly every waking moment there?

Shanahan identified a coach first and named run game coordinator Mike McDaniel. He also noted that McDaniel doesn't have a wife or kids, so there is no one giving him a guilt trip about staying in the office too late.

The player Shanahan responded with was quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who coincidentally is also unmarried and doesn't have kids. Of course, Shanahan didn't mention that.

"When Jimmy is here during the season, he is as locked in as anyone," Shanahan said on the "Tolbert, Krueger and Brooks" show.

The 49ers won't play this coming weekend as the team is on its bye week. Typically, many players will scatter for a few days during the time off and get some much-needed rest. Of course, the 49ers have only played three games and were scheduled with an early Week 4 bye week.

Garoppolo won't be among the players who depart the area. He'll stick around. Garoppolo and several teammates were even seen on Tuesday night attending a WWE event at Chase Center in San Francisco.

"He puts in a lot of hours, and I know he's going to hang out (during the bye) and throw a little bit," Shanahan continued. "We've got some injured receivers still staying back, trying to rehab, so they're ready for next week. I think Jimmy will be here and, hopefully, working out some of the guys."

Shanahan hopes to have rookie receiver Jalen Hurd back practicing next week as the 49ers prepare for their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. He is recovering from a stress fracture in his back.

Trent Taylor is another injured receiver, but was placed on injured reserve on September 20, where he must remain for at least eight weeks. Taylor had surgery on August 9 to repair a foot fracture.

You can listen to the entire conversation with Shanahan below.

Article updated because it incorrectly referenced Taylor as if he could return during Week 5.
