The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for four to six weeks without their Pro Bowl fullback, Kyle Juszczyk. The team hasn't signed a replacement yet, and may not do so before Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams because of the short week of preparation.

What the team did do was bring in several fullbacks for tryouts, according to Field Yates of ESPN. The names include George Aston, Tommy Bohanon, Michael Burton, Derrick Coleman, Tre Madden, Ricky Ortiz, and Aaron Ripkowksi, per the report.


Juszczyk, an important part of head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense, will miss the next several weeks after suffering an MCL sprain in Monday night's 31-3 victory over the Cleveland Browns.


Update: Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the workouts during his Wednesday afternoon press conference and said there are no plans to sign any of the fullbacks.


"We looked at them," Shanahan said. "We're one down for four to six weeks. You guys can see we don't have (another) one, but tight ends can do that stuff, too, just like a lot of teams do."
