Kittle will play, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN. However, there is some question as to how much.
It was head coach Kyle Shanahan who first reported on Friday afternoon that Kittle was dealing with a groin injury and was limited during that day's practice.
"I don't have much information on [the injury]," Shanahan told reporters. "They'll check it out here this afternoon, but he was limited because of it today."
Shanahan was asked if he expected Kittle to play on Sunday.
"Right now, I do," he responded. "But it's still a little bit early, so that's why he will be questionable. We'll see what news I get later, after he gets with the trainers and stuff, and gets it checked out."
Kittle's injury status was not updated on Saturday, and he remained listed as "questionable."
The 49ers are heading into the NFC West showdown with the Rams without both their starting tackles, a starting cornerback, and minus their only fullback.
Left tackle Joe Staley went down with a fractured fibula during Week 2, and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon suffered foot sprain during Week 3. The team learned this week that it would be without right tackle Mike McGlinchey and fullback Kyle Juszczyk, both dealing with knee injuries, for four to six weeks.
The Rams are also dealing with injuries. They will be without running back Todd Gurley (quadricep), linebacker Clay Matthews (jaw), and cornerback Aqib Talib (ribs) on Sunday.
