The San Francisco 49ers are signing 22-year-old wide receiver Deontay Burnett to their practice squad, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, after working out several receivers on Tuesday. The move will likely become official on Wednesday.

Update: The 49ers officially announced the signing of Burnett on Wednesday. To make room on the practice squad, the team has released wide receiver Malik Henry.

Henry initially signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of West Georgia on May 3. He was waived on August 31 and signed to the team's practice squad the next day.

The Tennessee Titans signed Burnett as an undrafted free agent out of Southern California in 2018, but he was waived on September 1, 2018. Burnett joined the New York Jets practice squad and was promoted to the active roster on October 20, 2018.

The Jets waived the receiver on August 31.

Burnett appeared in five games, including one start, with the Jets, hauling in 10 passes for 143 yards.
