His name is Tyshun Samuel, but everyone knows him by his nickname, "Deebo." It was given to him by his father and inspired by the character named "Deebo" from the movie Friday.

Tom "Tiny" Lister Jr., who played the character alongside Ice Cube and Chris Tucker in the film, was recently approached by TMZ and asked about the San Francisco 49ers' rookie wide receiver and what he thinks about his play.

"He gets the blessing, man," Lister told TMZ.

Lister goes on to say that he's honored Samuel had a nickname based on his character bestowed upon him. As for the rookie's team, he's a big fan of what the 5-0 San Francisco 49ers are doing, too.

"I'm a big fan of what they're doing up there, man," Lister continued. "And Deebo, yeah, I heard ESPN is trying to set something up with me and Deebo."

He went on to suggest that maybe Ice Cube should cast the 49ers' Deebo with the original in the next movie.

Samuel has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. He suffered a groin injury during San Francisco's Week 6 contest against the Los Angeles Rams.
