The San Francisco 49ers are 8-0 for the first time since 1990 and the second time in franchise history. The team's latest victory came against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night. San Francisco escaped State Farm Stadium with a 28-25 win.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan delivered the post-game speech to his players in the locker room.

"We're halfway done, men, halfway done," Shanahan said. "I wish we had done a little better in our first half, but I'll take 8-0 (to which the players laughed). We'll take that. We know we're just halfway there."

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo received the game ball after completing 75.7 percent of his passes for 317 yards with four touchdowns and a passer rating of 136.9.

"Hey, 8-0," Garoppolo shouted to his teammates. "We've got a whole second half, boys. Let's go make it count. We've got something special."
