The San Francisco 49ers are getting some exceptional play from their top pick from the 2019 NFL Draft, Ohio State EDGE Nick Bosa, who has been a major part of the Niners' defensive turnaround this season.

And not surprisingly, Bosa is shooting up the ranks in recognition of this year's rookie class.

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com recently ranked the top 25 rookies at the halfway point of the season. And you can probably guess who he put at No. 1 overall.

Bosa.

Here's what Jeremiah had to say about the placement:

Bosa has already emerged as the best pure power rusher in the NFL. He's the leading contender for Defensive Rookie of the Year and is also very much in the discussion for Defensive Player of the Year.

Bosa already leads a 49ers defense with seven sacks, and he's on pace to record 14 his rookie season. That would tie the record for sacks set by a 49ers rookie, held by former EDGE Aldon Smith, who broke Hall of Fame pass-rusher Charles Haley's mark when the former broke into the league back in 2011. Making Bosa's numbers even more impressive is the fact the Niners are tied for No. 2 in team sacks this year with 30. Only the New England Patriots have more (31).

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew was ranked No. 2, followed directly by Jaguars EDGE Josh Allen. Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is No. 4, while Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush is at No. 5.

Also, to no one's surprise, Bleacher Report recently gave San Francisco an A-plus grade for Bosa's efforts so far in 2019.
