NFL.com just put together a predictions panel trying to accurately guess who winds up winning this year's championship. The 8-0 49ers received just three votes:
- Tom Blair predicts the Niners over the Kansas City Chiefs
- Gregg Rosenthal predicts the Niners over the Chiefs
- Steve Smith Sr. predicts the Niners over the New England Patriots
New England received the most out of any team in the discussion panel, eight, while the New Orleans Saints received six for second place. The Chiefs and 49ers were tied with three votes apiece.
Interestingly enough, the Oakland Raiders received two votes from David Carr and Akbar Gbajabiamila, while the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks received one vote apiece.
San Francisco received 19 votes to win the NFC West, while Seattle had seven. EDGE Nick Bosa also received the most votes (23) for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
