Sherman is now with the San Francisco 49ers, who have an important divisional showdown with the cornerback's former team on Monday night. A reporter asked Sherman what he remembers about that night.
"I remember I dropped a pick I should have had because that would have been my first three-pick game, so I was upset about that," Sherman responded. "Then I got Player of the Game, and they let us eat turkey."
Joe Staley remembers that game vividly. The reporter had asked the veteran tackle about that night and told Sherman that Staley was more ticked off by the meal on the 50-yard line than the score of the game.
"Maybe that was the problem that year," Sherman said while smiling. "Maybe the score should have pissed you off, and I wouldn't have been eating turkey leg out there. Because if we had lost, they would have been eating turkey on the field."
