Richard Sherman will be the first to tell you that safety Jaquiski Tartt deserves a Pro Bowl selection this year. The San Francisco 49ers defense, one of the best in the league, will likely be well represented in Orlando in January. If Tartt has more games like the one he had during Monday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, he may very well earn a trip too.

Tartt had a memorable strip of Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf at the goal line late in the first half.


"I was just trying to make a play," Tartt told reporters after the game. "Every play is the defense's mindset to get the ball. For us, they are not in the end-zone until they are in the end-zone. For me, I was just trying to strip the ball, and I just happened to take it away from him."

Tartt walked away from the disappointing overtime defeat with the game's top Pro Football Focus grade. Not just the best grade among 49ers players, but the best from the entire game. Seven of San Francisco's top grades belong to players on the defensive side of the ball.


Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo earned the third-lowest grade among 49ers players from the matchup with Seattle. His 44.1 overall grade wasn't just his lowest of the season, but it was the lowest of his career, not counting a three-snap Week 12 outing against the Seahawks in 2017 — his first appearance with the 49ers.
