Head coach Kyle Shanahan's inactive list was essentially predictable, including injured players not named quarterback C.J. Beathard:
- QB C.J. Beathard
- RB Matt Breida
- K Robbie Gould
- LB Azeez Al-Shaair
- OT Joe Staley
- TE George Kittle
- NT D.J. Jones
Shanahan informed reporters earlier this week Breida would be out a couple of weeks with an ankle injury, while Staley's broken finger suffered against the Seattle Seahawks a week ago would keep him out roughly the same length.
Gould's absence opens up the door for rookie kicker Chase McLaughlin to gain some redemption after his overtime miss versus Seattle a week ago.
Al-Shaair (concussion) and Jones (groin) could return in a week or two.
Yet Kittle's absence figures to have a notable effect on San Francisco's offense. On the plus side, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is expected to play despite suffering a ribs injury in Week 10. The Niners offense, which was without Kittle a week ago, struggled once Sanders exited the game.
Sanders' presence will be something to watch versus Arizona, and the 49ers and Cardinals will kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium.
