Ford has averaged around 20 snaps per game since a 40-snap performance during Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Still, he has 14 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a pass defensed, and two forced fumbles this season.
The 49ers will look to its own players to fill the void left by Ford's absence and won't make a roster move ahead of Sunday's game, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. San Francisco is already without Ronald Blair, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury during Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks.
"I don't see us making a roster move," Shanahan told reporters on Friday. "A little too late, right now, and we like what we've got. We can mix guys up and get it done here until Dee Ford's back."
The 49ers traded a 2020 second-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs in March in exchange for Ford.
