The San Francisco 49ers probably shocked at least a few among the national media with their 37-8 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. The Kyle Shanahan-led squad improves to 10-1 with the Packers falling to 8-3.

The NFC showdown was big for both teams. A loss by San Francisco could have plummeted them from the No. 1 seed in the conference to the No. 5 seed and seen Green Bay jump into the top spot.

None of that matters right now because the 49ers won and retain their hold on the No. 1 spot in the NFC.

Below is how the NFC playoff picture looks following the 49ers' Week 12 victory, and the seeding if the season ended today. The teams' records are shown in parenthesis.
