"Thank goodness for our offense," Sherman added. "Thank goodness for Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle, obviously, Kyle Shanahan."
Include running back Raheem Mostert on that list, too.
Mostert, once again, put up some impressive numbers. He carried the football 10 times for 69 yards and a rushing touchdown while adding two receptions for 40 yards and a score. The running back contributed 109 yards of total offense in the 48-46 win at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Mostert and the 49ers take offense when the opposition can score at will against their often dominant defense. On a team where the defense is always praised, the offense wants to prove that it can be equally dangerous.
"Our offense, we're resilient," Mostert told Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area after the game. "We take it personal when the opposing team comes in and scores on our defense. We want to show everyone that we are a powerful offense, and we've got to go out there and make plays.
"The defense, they did a good job toward the end of the game. I mean, truthfully, the whole game, but when it really mattered, and we needed them, they came through. And then the offense just drove down the field to help us get that win."
