Head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed on Wednesday that D.J. Jones' ankle injury may be more serious that initially believed. The defensive tackle did not practice and could miss the remainder of the season, which would be yet another blow to the 49ers' talented defensive front.
Cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Dee Ford are both dealing with hamstring injuries and are likely to miss multiple weeks. As expected, neither practiced on Wednesday.
Another cornerback, K'Waun Williams, remains in the concussion protocol and did not practice.
Safety Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) and defensive tackle Jullian Taylor (elbow) also did not practice after being inactive during Sunday's win over the New Orleans Saints. Taylor is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Falcons, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
