"Today was a close second," Shanahan said after the 49ers' 26-21 win at CenturyLink Field.
Pro Football Focus believes otherwise.
Garoppolo's performance against the Seahawks was his highest-graded game of the season. While he didn't throw a touchdown pass, the quarterback went 18-of-22 for 285 yards and a passer rating of 118.8.
Garoppolo finished the 2019 season with 3,978 passing yards. That total ranks fourth all-time among 49ers quarterbacks in franchise history.

Garoppolo's 90.1 overall grade was the second-highest of his career. He earned a 91.9 grade during Week 2 of the 2016 season while with the New England Patriots.
Garoppolo wasn't the highest-graded player from Sunday night's game, though. That honor goes to tight end George Kittle, who earned a 94.1 grade. In fact, three 49ers — Kittle, Garoppolo, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel — all graded higher than any single Seahawks player.
Below are the five highest-graded 49ers players on offense against the Seahawks
- George Kittle, TE, 94.1
- Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, 90.1
- Deebo Samuel, WR, 90.0
- Matt Breida, RB, 78.9
- Kyle Juszczyk, FB, 76.1
Below are the five highest-graded 49ers players on defense.
- Richard Sherman, CB, 77.2
- Jimmie Ward, FS, 75.9
- Arik Armstead, DE, 74.7
- DeForest Buckner, DT, 71.1
- Dre Greenlaw, LB, 68.1
