The week that follows will be completely different. It will be hectic. It's easy to get lost in the media circus that is the week leading to the Super Bowl. You have family with you. You are trying to get tickets to the game for those closest to you. You have several media obligations as the NFL requires you to promote the big game endlessly.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan has been through it before. A few players, like Richard Sherman, Joe Staley, Emmanuel Sanders, and Jimmy Garoppolo, have experienced it, as well.
For the rest of the team, this will all be very new.
"You don't really know what it's like until you go through it," Shanahan told reporters on Monday. "Our players have experience now with the playoffs. They're going to get experience here at the Super Bowl. People will tell you all about it, but you've got to go through it. I'm very thankful that you've got two weeks to do it. I do think it's crazy when you get down there for the week."
Shanahan knows the 49ers mustn't get caught up in the event of Super Bowl LIV, and instead treat it like any other game.
"You've got to focus on the task at hand because once you get down there, it's hectic," Shanahan continued. "Everyone wants to be taken care of and stuff, but we've got a job to do, and that's what we're going to do. We're going in there to play in the Super Bowl, which is a very important football game. For us, we can't get caught up in an event. This is just a game."
The 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will face off on Sunday, February 2 in Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
