Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady still keep in touch, even years after a trade sent Garoppolo from the New England Patriots to the San Francisco 49ers.

Garoppolo spent years as Brady's backup, learning from the future Hall of Famer. Now, he is preparing to play in the biggest game of his life — Super Bowl LIV.

Brady recently sent his former understudy a text message ahead of the big game. Garoppolo on Monday night shared what Brady told him in that message.

"Yeah, he shot me a text, just 'good luck' and everything like that," Garoppolo told Michael Irvin of NFL Network. "Just, 'Go handle business.' It wasn't too complicated or anything. Just, 'Go win.'"

Garoppolo has a chance to create an NFL legacy of his own, and can be the quarterback to bring the 49ers their coveted sixth Vince Lombardi Trophy. Garoppolo will lead his squad onto the Super Bowl LIV football field against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
