BetOnline.ag created a map depicting which states are rooting for which team. The 49ers dominate the West Coast, owning nine states — if you include Hawaii — in that region when it comes to rooting interest in Super Bowl LIV, and 23 total states, including several East Coast ones. The Chiefs, however, are the dominating squad in the other 27 states.
The map was created using geotagged Twitter data from last week, tracking the primary fan hashtags for each team, such as #ChiefsKingdom and #GoNiners. More than 75,000 tweets were tracked.
