The San Francisco 49ers might have been able to use a healthy Trent Taylor this season. It wasn't meant to be, though. The team remained hopeful that the third-year receiver might have been able to contribute in 2019 but finally placed him on injured reserve on September 20.

Taylor is hoping 2020 is different. The receiver initially underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his foot on August 9, 2019, and then four more due to complications. Taylor said on Wednesday that he hopes to be medically cleared next week and ramp up work, according to Bay Area News Group.

Taylor wants to be part of the 49ers' offseason program and aims to be 100 percent by training camp.

Following an impressive rookie campaign in 2017, Taylor was slowed in 2018 as he recovered from offseason back surgery.

The 49ers made Taylor a fifth-round selection out of Louisiana Tech in 2017. He registered 26 receptions for 215 yards with a touchdown through 14 games in 2018.
