Kay Adams of Good Morning Football made an admittedly not-so-bold (her words) prediction for one San Francisco 49ers player. That would be wide receiver Deebo Samuel, whom she calls the fourth running back on the team because of his ability to carry the football in addition to catch passes.
"I think there's a real chance that our boy, Deebo Samuel, is the No. 1 wide receiver for the high-scoring San Francisco 49ers next year," Adams said on NFL Network. "On the ground, through the air, I'm going to say — it doesn't even seem very bold at all — 1,000 through the air, 500 on the ground. I say it happens."
Adams went on to say that she had a chance to meet Samuel before Super Bowl LIV. The receiver walked over to introduce himself to her.
"He just came right up to me before the game," Adams said gushingly. "You're about to play the biggest game of your life. He's like, 'Love the show! What up?'"
Samuel certainly could be the 49ers' top wide receiver target next season. He led the group in 2019 with 802 receiving yards — second on the team only to tight end George Kittle — on 57 catches with three touchdowns.
Samuel's 14.1 yards per catch led all 49ers players with more than 12 catches. He also had 14 rushing attempts for 159 yards with three rushing touchdowns.
Samuel caught five passes for 39 yards on nine targets against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.
