"Click, click, click; it's good for business," Mike Florio recently said during Pro Football Talk Live regarding the Brady-top-49ers rumors running wild.

While the media is entertaining itself with speculation-driven reports and discussion of the San Francisco 49ers potentially replacing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with Tom Brady, the fanbase has made it clear where it stands on the debate.

We recently asked fans to vote on which player they prefer starts at quarterback for the 49ers in 2020, and, unsurprisingly, the overwhelming majority support the 28-year-old Garoppolo over the 42-year-old Brady.

As of this post, almost 93 percent of fans asked on Twitter voted for Garoppolo.

The results weren't much different on Facebook, with 91 percent of fans voting for Garoppolo there.

"We're extremely proud of Jimmy and committed to Jimmy moving forward," general manager John Lynch said last month during the NFL Scouting Combine. "He's our guy. As I've said, from the day he walked into our building, he made us better, and we continue to feel that's the case. And that's the most exciting think about him, is the room for growth. He's not come close to hitting his ceiling."

Garoppolo completed 69.1 percent of his passes for 3,978 yards with 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions this past season. His single-season passing yards total ranks fourth all-time in 49ers franchise history.

While Lynch says Garoppolo has not yet hit his ceiling, some would argue that Brady's best years are behind him. Brady completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 4,057 yards with 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions, but got there on 134 more attempts than Garoppolo.
