Bovada recently asked fans who the ultimate sports duo is, posting a photo of legendary Chicago Bulls duo Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, one of the all-time greats.

There have been many fantastic duos in San Francisco 49ers history alone. You can't go wrong with names Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. Want to go defense? What about Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman? Maybe the iconic play, "The Catch," has you thinking Montana and Dwight Clark.

It's tough to come up with a bad answer.

Legendary 49ers running back Frank Gore cast his vote, declaring that he and tackle Joe Staley are the ultimate sports duo.

Staley, who has long adored his former teammate, responded with the following.

By the way, having fond memories of Gore, I obviously liked that post a lot.

Gore remains the 49ers' all-time leading rusher and currently ranks No. 3 in the NFL's all-time rushing list with 15,347 yards. The future Hall of Fame running back sits behind just Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton on the list.

Gore is a five-time Pro Bowl selection while Staley is a six-time Pro Bowler. The two were teammates for eight years before Gore departed for the Indianapolis Colts in 2015. He spent 2018 with the Miami Dolphins, 2019 with the Buffalo Bills, and looks to continue his illustrious 15-year career.
