The San Francisco 49ers may be looking to bolster their tight end group, which is led by arguably the best current player at the position — All-Pro George Kittle. Matt Barrows of The Athletic on Thursday identified some tight end prospects in which the team has expressed interest. They include draft prospects and free agents.

We knew about San Francisco's interest in former Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed, thanks to Barrows. The reporter reveals that the 49ers have also inquired about former Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Geoff Swaim.

Barrows mentioned tight end Delanie Walker, too, which should delight many among The Faithful who fondly remember his time with the 49ers. Although, he doesn't explicitly state that San Francisco has expressed any interest in the former Tennessee Titan, who may wait until after the draft to see if he garners more interest.

On the draft side, Barrows names two tight end prospects — Washington's Hunter Bryant and UCLA's Devin Asiasi. We already knew about Bryant, thanks to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area. Both he and Asiasi already had video interviews with the 49ers. Team representatives also met with Virginia Tech's Dalton Keene at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, reports Barrows.

The NFL Draft is just three weeks away, and there is a strong possibility that a tight end could be part of the 49ers' newest rookie class.
