The San Francisco 49ers are trading running back Matt Breida to the Miami Dolphins for a fifth-round pick in this year's draft, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Breida signed his one-year tender with the 49ers on April 16. The team placed the second-round tender on the 25-year-old running back on March 17. Breida is preparing to enter his fourth NFL season.

The 49ers signed Breida as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Southern in 2017. He carried the football 123 times for 623 yards with a rushing touchdown while adding 19 receptions for 120 yards with a receiving touchdown through 13 games and five starts in 2019.

While Breida had nine carries for 19 yards during the 49ers' first two playoff games in January, he didn't touch the football during Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs. The running back has accumulated 1,902 rushing yards on 381 attempts with six rushing touchdowns through his three NFL seasons.
