Mullens, 25, recently switched agents. He is scheduled to make $750,000 during the upcoming season before becoming a restricted free agent in 2021.
Michael Lombardi of The Athletic reported last month that the 49ers turned down multiple trade offers for Mullens.
"The 49ers got a bunch of phone calls — when I say a bunch, a couple of teams — on Nick Mullens, the backup quarterback in San Francisco," Lombardi said. "Nick Mullens. They were asking about him, and they turned down every trade offer for Nick Mullens. They wouldn't trade him."
Mullens started eight games for the 49ers in 2018, replacing C.J. Beathard following starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's season-ending ACL injury. Mullens completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 2,277 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in those starts.
The 49ers signed Mullens as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss in 2017. He did not play a snap during the 2019 season but was Garoppolo's primary backup all year.
