Get ready for the revival of a rivalry. The San Francisco 49ers will play the Las Vegas Raiders in the preseason for the first time since the annual series ended in 2011 amid concerns over violence.

The two teams will face each other at Levi's Stadium during the second week of the preseason, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, and assuming exhibition games aren't eliminated due to concerns over the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

It was reported in February that the 49ers were considering renewing the preseason meetings with the Raiders. The two teams meet during 11 consecutive preseasons before the cancelation of the series.

The Raiders will play their first season at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this year. The 2019 season was the Raiders' last in the Bay Area.

The teams have played two regular-season games since 2011, with each winning one game. The 49ers traveled to Oakland in 2014, losing 24-13, and then hosted the final Battle of the Bay matchup in 2018, winning 34-3.
