The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot on Tuesday during a player-organized practice at the Brentwood Academy, just outside Nashville, Tennessee.
That's good news for Samuel, who will now start his road to recovery.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network initially reported that the receiver would miss 12 to 16 weeks. Samuel, however, sounded more optimistic, saying on social media Thursday that he expects to be back in 10 weeks and in time for the start of the regular season.
That could very well be the case, should there be no complications after the surgery. As 49ers fans know too well, wide receiver Trent Taylor suffered a similar injury last year, and ensuing complications, including an infection, sidelined him for the entire season.
