The 49ers' all-time sack leader, Bryant Young, loves what he sees in Bosa. Young joined KNBR on Thursday to discuss his impending induction into the 49ers Hall of Fame and offered up a scouting report of the second-year defender.
"I think his ceiling is very high, just coming in," Young told Greg Papa and John Lund. "And the way he played and carried himself on the edge; great use of hands, good knee bend, he understands angles, very balanced, and he has really good leverage and uses his strength well.
"And so, just understanding how to attack offensive linemen. You saw him do that with some big plays, and he's only going to get better. He's a fun guy to watch, and I look forward to watching him in the future, for sure."
Bosa recorded nine sacks last season, and added four more during postseason play, including reaching Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LIV.
The defensive end expects to be even better during his sophomore season.
"I'm just going to know how to approach my opponents much better," Bosa said in May, "and I'm not going to waste rushes. I'm not going to make silly mistakes that I made last year, and hopefully enhance my game."
The 49ers selected Bosa out of Ohio State with the No. 2 overall pick in last year's draft. He racked up 47 tackles, two passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble to go along with his nine regular-season sacks.
