Much has been said of the San Francisco 49ers' upcoming revenge tour. The team is looking to redeem itself for February's heartbreaking defeat in Super Bowl LIV when it was minutes away from finally winning the franchise's sixth championship.

Maybe "revenge tour" isn't the right term, with all due respect to All-Pro tight end George Kittle.


Raheem Mostert prefers to think of it as the 49ers having some unfinished business. The running back joined KNBR on Thursday morning and shared his thoughts on the team's mentality heading into an uncertain 2020 season.

"Like I said in those calls yesterday, our mindset right now is we left some stuff out there on that field in the big stage," Mostert told Mark Willard and Paulie Mac, "and what better way to go out here in these next couple of weeks and try to accomplish that same goal, if not more? This time it's to win. That's our ultimate goal, and that's what we feel in the locker room."

49ers players have expressed all offseason that they remain focused on the same goal — winning the Super Bowl. The team is using February's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs as motivation for the upcoming season.

Now, the young roster finally has playoff experience to build upon.

"You speak to anybody that's in this locker room, and they'll tell you the same thing. We have some unfinished business," Mostert continued. "Everyone calls it the revenge tour, but to us, it is a little bit of revenge, but at the same time, it doesn't matter if the Chiefs make it, if the Ravens, if anyone else. It's one of those things where we're going to play our game, and we're going to do our best because that's all we know.


"We have unfinished business, and we're trying to chase for that sixth one."
