The ageless San Francisco 49ers legend, Frank Gore, has cast his vote for the best running back and offensive tackle combo in NFL history. The official Twitter account of Bovada Sportsbook asked fans to name their nominees, so Gore went ahead and responded.

The 49ers' all-time leading rusher and future Hall of Famer named himself and former teammate Joe Staley. Gore, as of this post, features a photo of Staley's No. 74 as his Twitter profile photo.

By the way, thanks for the mention, Frank.

This isn't the first time Gore has campaigned for himself and Staley. The running back, now with the New York Jets, submitted the same nominees in March when Bovada asked fans to name the ultimate sports duo.

At the time, Staley replied with the following.

Staley retired from football in April. Gore, who remains a fan favorite, is preparing to enter his 15th NFL season at the age of 37. He currently ranks No. 3 in the NFL's all-time rushing list with 15,347 yards, behind only Emmitt Smith (18,355) and Walter Payton (16,726).

Gore and Staley were teammates for eight years before Gore signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2015. He spent 2018 with the Miami Dolphins, 2019 with the Buffalo Bills, and joined the Jets in May on a one-year deal.

The 49ers and Jets are scheduled to play each other at MetLife Stadium on September 20.

Gore showed this offseason that he still has a fantastic sense of humor in this response to a tweet.
