The San Francisco 49ers have announced that 27-year-old offensive lineman Jake Brendel has become the team's third player to opt-out of the 2020 season, joining offensive lineman Shon Coleman and wide receiver Travis Benjamin.

Coleman opted out today while Benjamin announced his decision on Tuesday.

Brendel entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA with the Dallas Cowboys in 2016. He spent time with the Miami Dolphins and last offseason with the Denver Broncos before a three-day stint with the Baltimore Ravens in November of 2019.

The 49ers signed Brendel on February 7.

Brendel has appeared in 21 games with three starts over his four NFL seasons.
