The San Francisco 49ers plan to work out CFL offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley, according to CFL insider Farhan Lalji (h/t to 3DownNation).

"Shepley on his way to San Fran to workout with the 49ers," reported Lalji after news broke of the Saskatchewan Roughriders releasing Shepley to pursue NFL opportunities.

Lalji also notes that four teams, presumably including the 49ers, have expressed interest in Shepley. Of course, NFL workouts take longer amid the coronavirus, as players must pass multiple COVID-19 tests before entering a team facility.

The New York Jets signed Shepley (6-4, 310) as an undrafted free agent out of the University of British Columbia in 2018, but he was released later that offseason. The Roughriders made him the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 CFL Draft.

Some interesting trivia: Shepley portrayed Omega Red in Deadpool 2.
