The San Francisco 49ers released an unofficial depth chart ahead of Week 1. It listed "Emmanuel Moseley OR Ahkello Witherspoon" as the starting cornerback opposite veteran Richard Sherman.

While Moseley is expected to start, we may not officially know that until warmups on Sunday morning. Kyle Shanahan sounds content with leaving the Arizona Cardinals guessing until then.

The 49ers coach joined KNBR on Friday morning and was asked if the team has officially named the second starting cornerback.

"No, we don't officially do anything this year," Shanahan responded.

Of course, he knows. That doesn't mean listeners were going to get an answer to the question.

"That is one thing," Shanahan continued. "When you go through the preseason and stuff, guys can figure out what you're doing. I mean, they see who's out there playing, and they get an idea. When it's obvious to me, I don't hide much because I think it's kind of silly when everyone knows anyways. And coaches can figure that out in the preseason, so we usually do announce it.

"But with no preseason games, nothing for anyone to look at, no one really knows anything, so it's an advantage this year not to tell anyone anything.

"So, we'll find out on Sunday what the situation is. I'll act like I'm still deciding, and that will be a game-time decision."
