Running back Raheem Mostert was among several San Francisco 49ers players to leave and not return to the game during Sunday's 31-13 victory over the New York Jets. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that his running back just had some "knee issues" on the MetLife Stadium turf.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Mostert suffered a mild MCL sprain and will undergo further tests.


Mostert did not come out of the locker room with his teammates for the second half. The 49ers later ruled him "out." He finished the game with 92 yards and a score on eight carries while adding two catches for 15 receiving yards.

Next Gen Stats recorded a top speed of 23.09 MPH for Mostert during his 80-yard touchdown run on the first offensive play of the game.


Tevin Coleman replaced Mostert, but also suffered a knee injury, according to Shanahan.

The 49ers will remain on the East Coast, stay and practice at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, and then return to MetLife Stadium in a week for their game against the New York Giants.
