The 49ers are flying in Ansah, 31, to meet up with the team on the East Coast, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The expectation is that the defender will sign with the team after going through another round of COVID-19 testing.
Before last week's workout, Ansah previously visited with the team in August, but San Francisco instead opted to sign Dion Jordan.
In addition to Bosa, the 49ers lost defensive lineman Solomon Thomas on Sunday. He reportedly suffered a knee injury as well. The team was already without pass rusher Dee Ford, who is dealing with a neck injury and was ruled "out" for Week 2.
The Lions drafted Ansah out of BYU with the No. 5 overall pick in 2013. He registered 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two passes defensed, and two forced fumbles through 11 games with the Seahawks in 2019.
Ansah has recorded 228 tackles, 50.5 sacks, four passes defensed, and 12 forced fumbles through his seven NFL seasons.
