The San Francisco 49ers beat the New York Giants 36-9 on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They were one of two NFC West teams to emerge from Week 3 with a victory after knocking off the New York Giants 36-9.

The other NFC West team to win this weekend was the Seattle Seahawks, who knocked off the visiting Dallas Cowboys 38-31 in a thriller.

Until this weekend, the 49ers were the only NFC West team with a loss. The Los Angeles Rams, however, couldn't complete a comeback on the road against the Buffalo Bills, losing 35-32. The Detroit Lions traveled to Glendale, Arizona, and knocked off the Cardinals 26-23.

While the Seahawks improve to 3-0, every other NFC West team now sits at 2-1.

The 49ers' only loss of the season came during the season opener against the Cardinals. San Francisco will not face another NFC West opponent until October 18 when it hosts the Los Angeles Rams at Levi's Stadium.

Kyle Shanahan and his squad look to build upon their two-game win streak when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in Santa Clara next weekend.

San Francisco will get its first crack at beating Seattle when it travels to CenturyLink Field on November 1.
