According to Field Yates of ESPN, the San Francisco 49ers have restructured the contract of guard Laken Tomlinson, creating an additional $1.34 million of salary-cap space by converting salary into bonuses.

The Detroit Lions selected Tomlinson out of Duke with the No. 28 overall pick in 2015. He was traded to the 49ers on August 31, 2017, in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.

Tomlinson has started all 53 of his game appearances since joining San Francisco. He signed a three-year contract extension with the 49ers in 2018, which will keep him with the team through the 2021 season.
