Jason Verrett is finally healthy and putting in some dominating performances on the football field again. The injury-plagued cornerback has endured mostly challenging years since entering the NFL in 2014. It sounds like his hard work is finally paying off.

Verrett has landed on injured reserve during all but one of his previous six NFL seasons. That one season in 2015 ended up landing the cornerback a Pro Bowl selection for his play that year.

Verrett joined 95.7 The Game on Wednesday and was asked if he feels like he is finally back at that Pro Bowl level now that he is at his healthiest since that 2015 season.

"Yeah, absolutely," Verrett responded on the Damon, Ratto & Kolsky show. "I just think, as the weeks go on, I think my game will elevate. This is a tough league and been out a while, but every week, I just look to try to take my game to another level, get out there facing some of the best receivers in the game week after week, and just try to gradually get myself back to the form that I once was."

Pro Football Focus named Verrett the Defensive Player of the Week following his impressive performance on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. His overall Week 6 grade of 94.0 was his highest mark since Week 9 of the 2015 season. Opposing quarterbacks own a passer rating of 7.0 while targeting him this season.
