Another player looking to do the same thing is rookie Javon Kinlaw, who has displayed flashes of his potential while adjusting to life in the NFL. Hyder, now in his seventh season, was asked about his first-year teammate this week, his development, and his future.
"He's a hungry player," Hyder told Keiana Martin of 49ers.com. "He's like hungry for knowledge. He's hungry to do well. He's really a talent, and I'm excited for him. He's getting better every week. And not to say he's not already better. He's just doing a great job."
While Hyder has 3.5 sacks this season, Kinlaw has yet to bring down an opposing quarterback. However, his 10 pressures are tied with Washington defensive end Chase Young for the most among rookies, and his eight hurries lead this year's draft class, according to Pro Football Focus.
"I'm excited for his career and where it's going to go for him," Hyder continued. "He has the passion for it, and he has the mind for it, so I know he's going to do great things."
