Could they be ready to go on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks? Head coach Kyle Shanahan says there is a chance, but the 49ers' Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on a Thursday night might be more likely.
"I think all three of those guys have a chance this week," Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday, "but they're not going to be going (in practice) today. I know Tevin will get a little bit today but not very much.
"We'll see at the end of the week with them. I'm hoping more for the Green Bay game, but I'm still holding out hope for this week."
The initial estimate on Reed's recovery was six to eight weeks. It has been less than five weeks since the tight end suffered an MCL sprain against the New York Giants.
Coleman is returning from a knee injury, and the 49ers could certainly use the help at running back. The team will be without Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) for a while, leaving just Jerick McKinnon, JaMycal Hasty, and, if needed, practice squader Austin Walter.
