The San Francisco 49ers will be getting several players — wide receivers Kendrick Bourne, Brandon Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel, along with tackle Trent Williams — back after they each received a second consecutive negative COVID-19 test result after Bourne tested positive this week. All four landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The three players other than Bourne were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list due to close contact with the receiver.

Update: The 49ers later announced that all four players have been activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list.

While Samuel had already been ruled out of Thursday night's game against the Green Bay Packers, the losses of Bourne and Aiyuk left the 49ers shorthanded at wide receiver, forcing the team to elevate two receivers from the practice squad.

Green Bay beat San Francisco 34-17.

The NFL is still investigating whether or not Bourne violated COVID-19 protocols surrounding mask-wearing, and the 49ers could face discipline should it be learned that he did.
