The San Francisco 49ers have placed defensive lineman Arik Armstead on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He becomes the eighth 49ers player to land on the list, with wide receiver Kendrick Bourne twice testing positive for the virus.

Below is a breakdown of the previous 49ers players who have landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The reserve/COVID-19 list has been created for a player who tests positive for COVID-19 or has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, his club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Clubs are not permitted to comment on a player's medical status other than referring to the roster status and may not disclose whether the player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.

Armstead has recorded 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two tackles for a loss, nine quarterback hits, and two passes defended through 10 games this season — his sixth in the NFL.

The 49ers are entering their bye week, and don't have another game scheduled until November 29 when they play the Los Angeles Rams.
